hi i recently sent a post about the securefast decoding kit ,where i asked if anyone was having trouble opening the locks with the right sided keys, as i was only getting 65% success, pinky explained he was getting a 100% with his kit and that i might have a bad set of keys.Which i did.i have recently recut the keys and are now getting 100% ,so i would like to say a thankyou to pinky for his advice, keyman

no probs, just keep a good copy set to cut from and you will always be sorted, the keys wear, sometimes all you need do is put them on a vice and hit with hammer to get them a1 again, this just stretches them a touch, which is often all they need.

if interested, you can decode almost any non curtain lock the same way as the securefast pick.
take a relevent key blank and place a No 1 cut on each key in each lever position, so for a 5 lever lock you will have 10 keys , 5 for L/H and 5 for R/h of door, all with a number 1 cut in just 1 lever position on each key.

when turned in the lock you will find that the key stops in a different position for each number lever, ie lever No 1 to 7, when the pattern is learnt you can decode these locks quite quickly.

Pinky you are a wealth of knowledge i would never have thought of doing that but know you have mentioned it it makes sense .i'm from walsall in and work for a local housing trust in willenhall yes willenhall so alot of our old houses are still fitted with no bs locks as you can imagine the old lock workers taking the odd one home and fitting it there door.We are in the procsess of upgrading but this is a huge task.this is why i have the securefast kit as this is the lock we are using but soon to change to the Walsall sash lock with euro cylinder and anti drill and pick eschuteons i think i have worked a way to open them but if not i will surerly be asking for you advice thanks again

Would I be right in thinking that you can decode locks with a curtain using this kit after using a curtain breaker?

The Securefast BS pick will only pick/decode Securefasts, and you don't need to break the curtain, that's just for locks like the 3G114, for which you can get a different BS pick/decoder...
