Ian firth cylinders

Postby Rickthepick » 14 Sep 2011 7:07

Just came across an oval named Ian Firth from a break in repair.

Im guessing they specialise in master keyed suites as it was a large apartment block.

Anyhow,

Looking at the evidence the intruder gained entry by hammering the lock through the door breaking off the center cam.

I couldnt find a retaining screw so im assuming one was never fitted :?

I have the whole setup here for a photo when camera is charged

or the intruder may have taken the screw away a few days before the intrusion...

Now I'm curious to see the pictures :)

There doesnt seem to be enough damage to the lockcase... unless these cylinders have cheap cams, i couldnt find the pieces.

I really cant see a crook bypassing with a wire... Im stumped on this one

the centre cam doesnt protrude more than a mm or 2 really on an oval cylinder (on some not at all) - so if the screw wasnt there (removed previously??) then it could just push thru perhaps with a small degree of force

ian firth is a multi million pound hardware company , he owns a factory in china and makes his own cylinders there , he sells mainly to the new build market , construction , and building center markets .

ians cylinders are sold to many other smaller merchants and branded under a load of names.
