Getting Lockmasters products/combination locks in the UK

Postby sj » 22 Dec 2004 6:41

I'm trying to buy a couple of mechanical combination safe locks, and it seems to be very difficult to get them in the UK. I would like one cutaway to get a better understanding of how these work and another non-cutaway mounted lock to practice on.

Lockmasters seem to have what I am looking for in:
http://www.lockmasters.com/SafeMiscTools.PDF

They have a cutaway LaGard lock for $61.88 and sell a plastic safe lock mount for $10.25. I emailed them and was told they do not sell direct to the UK and should contact Thomas Fox (http://www.thomasfox.co.uk/). I have emailed and faxed Bruce Rutter there but have got no reply, either about the locks or buying "Manual of Lock Picking" (they are also resellers for Tech-Train).

I asked Lockmasters again and they suggested Zieh-Fix in Germany, but the same lock is over twice the price ($137.55):

and they don't appear to have the safe mount so I would rather not buy from them.

Does anyone know a place where I can buy Lockmasters products for a reasonable price, and are willing to ship to the UK? Or do you know of some other place where I can buy similar things?

Cooksons Locksmiths in Nottingham used to be the UK Lockmasters agents but are now selling off the remaining stock. 0115 9455404.
They will not sell to you unless you are trading as a locksmith

Lockmasters told them that they were responsible for the best European sales and then appointed the German firm as main European agents instead.

Look on ebay for cutaways or make your own.

Bruce R is a good man but Thos Fox sometimes seem too busy to bother with small orders.
