To open that lock you have put the key to the keyway and turn it clockwise for 1/3 turn
Image
After key stops you have remove key from key way. Then turn it on 180 degree and put the key into the key way.

Turn the key clockwise to 1/3 turn to open the lock.

Look at the size of those bolts! That lock looks beefy! Use good bolts to secure it to a good door, and destructive entry would be pretty difficult.

Pretty impressive!
Great to have Kerti here to bring out these Russian lever locks.
Usually when a customer asks to copy a 2-sided multi-lever key I ask them if its for a safe or a Russian doorlock.
And usually I can´t copy it right away, I would have to search and order blanks for those.
I quess you have to take your door security more seriously behind the eastern border than we do here.
Even tho the cylinder here is commonly Abloy, we have no heavy bolts and like my house, the door has normal and big glass window on it.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice lock as always Kerti, you are spoiling us with all those interesting exotic stuff :)

I have been thinking about garage locks and considering the strength of the average European garage doors (like the one ones you shown as the middle class garage door) and I think there is not much point in putting a mega strong lock on it since the door itself is usually only 1-1,5 cm thick wood. (At least here).
Not sure if it's sensible to put such strong lock on such a door.

I've seen such "typical USSR" garages here too, but nowadays they are extremely rare. Those doors are also only made fro am thin sheet of metal if I recall correctly. Admittedly it was a good 7-8 years since I last saw one from the inside :)

Kerti, thank you for sharing that with us.

Here in Portugal lever locks are pretty common as door locks too. But I like the ingenuity of Russian lever locks!
They look pretty tough.

Have you pick any of those?
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

I have no enough time to lockpicking. But.
Border, Elbor without false notches opens relatively easy. Border, Elbor with notches opens not easy.

Kerberos is very hard to open. It ihas very powerful springs.
