Breakdown of JPM Spinel a new Assa Abloy lock

Another quite new lock from Assa Abloy. It's branded JPM, a French brand, but looking at ths inside, I'd say it's made by TESA.

The knob has a very interesting feature. It is possible to extend it of about 2 centimeters just by removing a blocking pin.

Nice to see you back, FrenchKey. This lock seems to be nicely made. Never seen that handle feature. Could that be to allow the lock to be used in a thicker door?

Yes, it's exactly for that purpose. Actually, I don't think it's intended for the customer nor even the locksmith to do it themselves, only the manufacturer that want to stock only a few different spare parts.
Usually, you would order and receive the lock with the shell longer too. But it's interesting that if you took a wrong measure, you can adjust it yourself. And since it's inside the door, it doesn't even look bad.

Some gorgeous pins on that. Very cool.

Thanks for sharing that.

No fair! FrenchKey and MrAnybody are both in the land of gorgeous locks! Come to think of it, another big name member is over there right now, but don't know if he wants it known. :(

Really appreciate you guys sharing these very cool locks.
