hi,
been seeing a lot of these locks knocking about lately dose anybody know what make they are ? i got told a while ago they could be ERA, anyone know for sure.
thanx
ray p.s heres some pics http://www.ianfirth.co.uk/pages/hardw/h ... dw_loc.htm
Difficult to say looking at those pics. Try to ID the locks from features such as the hardplate cut out and ignore the colour.
Those in the pics don't look like ERA's as the hardplate is above the keyway on ERA's. The bottom ones look a bit like old Legge blacks, or possibly Avocet.
I've seen a few Ian Firth euro's around lately on new estates. Not sure what manufacture they are though.
The bottom ones ( red ) are certainly legge, straight keyway , avocet would have a flared keyway, both have the arch, as does an ingersol which is also a legge.
ian firth used to use ERA profit locks in black, and viscount in chocolate brown , i have 2 here, now looks like they use the aldridge red legge.
hi evo,
its only the black ones i have seen, think they maybe era i will have to wait till i can get one on a lock out and have a play, as you say you have seen a lot of ian firth euros same here and they are very easy to pick cheers m8

The top two look like the old style ERA Viscount, 202 and 201 which I don't think were made in the Reynolds factory anyway.
The BS ones at the bottom are the same as Century in black or the old Aldridge contract locks in Maroon. I was told by an Aldridge rep at the time that they were made by Gibbons.
Do a search for Century BS.
