If the locks in your part of the world are the sames as those in Riga, Latvia, then they are not normally the small keyway type that we have in the UK say. So many of the locks would not need the slim picks anyway.
Most locks in the UK can be picked without using slim picks and if they can be I would not use them, as they are easy to break if you are new.
So to start with I would get a very small set of picks for standard US locks as they are robust and will open most padlocks and pin cylinder door locks in your part of the world too. When you get better you can get an nice set of slim picks which you will then be able to use without fear of breaking them.
One think is use to know though. Most small pick sets have a pick with a circular end, and I would file this down on one side to make it a half circle, as once this is done it is often the best starter pick around.
