We call it a padlock in english. Actually there's a forum at http://www.lockpicks.se/forum/index.php. I see they have the MIT guide there in svenska, so you should get it and read it first. Beware of the forum as I think it is associated with a swedish lock pick supplier who doesn't always seem to supply the goods paid for, but I could have misunderstood the relationship. There you could ask questions in swedish, but to be honest 'lockpicking101' has a lot more information for you.

Also read all the resources here, there is an awful lot of helpful stuff and you should read through all the threads, before asking very basic questions as they do seem to get asked a lot, and some people get cross.

I am guessing the padlock you have is a cheap one? I can't see a brand name.

Yeah its a cheap 1 it costed like 15 swedish kronor (2 dollars or something like that) thanks for the help

If i understand your question correctly you want someone to tell you with which kind of locks you should start.....right?

I suggest starting with cheap padlocks. Im still on them. Because housedoor locks etc. have....*grml* .....antilockpicking security measures (i can only remember the word shrooms.... >_<)

Ya,so cheap padlocks is the way to go. When you can unlock them without all to great problems you can mebbe go for some cheap housedoor locks...

22 minutes after I posted the link. Picking locks is not something you can become good at in a few minutes by reading posts on a forum. You have to understand the principles (by reading the MIT Guide in this case) get or make a suitable set of tools, and then practice, practice, practice. The padlock you already have is probably very suitable for a first lock to practice on.
