Anyone recognise the logo? I suspect German or thereabouts. It's an old aluminium front door lock. (You can just see some of the rest of the fittings on the ground below.)

Well the time scale could be about right. But the only place I could ever get the key succesfully copied was in Germany. So I'm thinking some German manufacturer. Maybe they did OEM logos on the locks. The mortise sash mechanism in the door (same logo) is now pretty rusty, and I was hoping to source a replacement which fits in the same hole.

As I'm off to Germany for a couple of days soon I might pop into a builders merchant there. It would just have been helpful to know who really made this kit.

I suppose if you put it that way... :D

Any suggestions from anyone for a manufacturer to look at for a replacement for the mortise sash mechanism?

Backset

Postby Bump » 11 Oct 2005 13:17

Does the backset have a code number on it. If so you might be able to get a replacement or equivelent from somewhere like Duffels.

Failing that an alternative backset might suffice, again look in the Duffels catalogue and compare measurements.

If you dont have a catalogue give me a PM and you can come round and see mine.
