Lockpicking Tools near Farmington, MN

Postby marillion » 16 Jul 2007 18:33

Hi,

i´m a lockpick enthusiast from germany and member of the german Lockpicking Association SSdeV.
My mother is living in the US and i´ll visit her in September this year.

I don´t feel very comfortably taking my lockpicking tools with me, because i don´t want to get into trouble with the US Customs.
I´m also afraid that my luggage dissapears on the flight, because i cannot carry the tools in my handluggage.

There is only one solution left: I have to buy me new picks!

So can anyone of the local lockpickers give me a tip for a good shop for lockpicking tools in the near of Farmington or the Twin Cities?
Maybe with HPC-Tools?

Thank you very much

:D

There really is no shop that sells lockpicks in this country. Theres some spy shop here and there that may carry them but usually cheapie sets and they will have very small selections of it.

If you pack your picks in the luggage you check in you might be able to take them with you.

there is a locksmith jobber in vadnais heights, north of st paul, near white bear lake. you could probably buy from them, there is also a jobber in minneapolis, named 'doyles' but they are twitchy about who they sell to.
Or you could order bogotas from me before you come and I could send the package to your local address so that it would be there when you come.

I forgot to mention the name of the place in vadnais heights, although you would find it under locksmiths in the yellow pages, at then end of locksmiths, where the category changes to locksmiths tools.

the place is calle reinhardts or reinholds or some such thing.

You could also place an order for a HPC set from a US pick tool distributor and have it shipped to your mothers home. By the time you get there in September it should have arrived.

I think to order via Internet is probably the best solution so i can be sure that the equipment is there when we arrive.
I found so much tools by now i want to order beside the pickset and i think i get all of them in one shop.

Thank you all very much for your help!

@raimundo:
I first heard about the bogotas just 5 minutes ago in the Thread "What was LP101 Members' Most Creative Idea?"
But to be honest i have absolutely no clue what kind of tools they are???
I would like to hear more about them!
