Is this thread still active?

Thought I´d introduce myself here.
I work in security company as a chief security officer. One aspect of my job is to improve daily security in shopping malls and other estates.
I don´t know much about locks, and this seemed to be logical and fun way to learn about locks.

I received my first pick set and couple locks two weeks ago (including one cutted lock to help training pin feel). Since then i´ve been playing with those and low quality locks became
easy to pick very fast. I came to conclusion that this is fun and very addictive hobby and I want to learn more. I think this is the right place to suck information :)

Where do you buy your quality locks, with security pins in Finland?
Does anyone know where to get pick tool for Abloy classic disc detainer locks, with reasonable price ( not like tiirikointi.com abloy tiirikka 229$)
Jaakko, if your´e reading, do you still make those?

Moi, Inni
For good quality pin tumbler locks, look for a Kaba- or Assa- certified locksmith. They will propably sell you a Kaba ExperT for 150 euros.:)
Huutonet has some cool locks occasionally, but its easiest to order from Britain for example. Allso check the buy/sell forum on LP101.
You could ask Huxleypig (-a member here) for the Classic-pick.
Happy Picking!

I'm also very interested in the Abloy classic tool. I just got my first disc detainer lock (a cheap chinese Yahuan from Tokmanni in Finland) open with a very basic cheap tool I ordered a while ago! What a rush! :D I know there are no false gates, and the construction is a bit sloppy, but somehow it still feels better than opening a pin tumbler. It has to have something to do with growing around those Abloys. I know the chinese sell tools for Abloy classic, but I've heard that they're not good and I don't want to throw away 60-70€ just to find out. I have also heard only good things about Jaakko's tools, but I don't know if he's active in this kind of stuff anymore.

Hi,

representing Nothern Finland, Oulu. I open car door locks and tow cars for living.

I think Jaakko is still around.

For the guys in Finland, Here is something you might like:

I have been looking for more Finnish places to post this, as nearly all of Finland uses Abloy! :D

This is my tool and I make them to order.

Looks like the thread had already died when you posted the video, but it's a really cool tool :D
Just wondering if you still make this tool. I see you've made another tool for the newer Abloys but I guess it won't work with the classics since the keyway is pretty different.
The lock market here is pretty extreme in the sense that almost every door has a classic or exec lock from Abloy, but you rarely see any decent padlocks or bike locks due to theft being pretty low.
I'm still a beginner at lock picking, but would like to move onto Abloys and other disk detainers as soon as I've mastered the basics.

Kyseessä on ihan 100% laillinen projekti.

Moi,
Even tho your question is for us Finns, we should write in English so the moderators and other members can understand.
Allso this section of forum is for locksport groups.
So you asked for someone near Mikkeli to come and pick your garage door lock because of lost keys.
Sorry but your best choice is to brake it yourself or ask a locksmith to come. They will most likely drill the lock and sell you a new one.
Even if you found a hobbiest lockpicker around South-Savo it may be too hard lock to pick. I´ve seen Assa, Kaba, Alfa & Boda locks that are not trivial to pick.
