I will definitely be there for all the meetings (as long as i'm in town... and alive), how many people usually show up for the first few meetings?

It depends entirely on how much advertising we do on campus before the meetings. I'd say for the first meeting we'll probably see between 20 and 40 people.

And are the numbers pretty consistent throughout the year?

I can't remember if we ever mentioned this here, but I want to throw this out there that we have "informal meetings" almost every week.... If you ever find yourself in the Austin, TX area on a Friday night, there's a good chance we're over at the Spider House bar, and you should definitely come by because I can't think of a better way to spend a Friday night than by picking locks (and getting drunk) with the LLPC crew :)

From our website:
We hold informal meetings on the first Friday of every month (okay, make that most Fridays, but for sure the first Friday). Meetings are held at the Spider House Bar and Cafe (map) (www), in the room just inside on the left, from 7pm until whenever. Anyone with an interest in lockpicking or security in general is encouraged to come, and there's no age limit. Hope to see you there!

I've just got a couple of quick questions about the LSI:

1.) Any sort of age requirement? I'm able to provide the necessary forms of ID, just might not meet any age requirements that may exist(didn't see any, sorry if this is a dumb one)
2.) Do you have to be a student attending UT? Because that'd suck. Nothing against UT, but it significantly limits your possible participants to learn with.

Thanks!

No, we're open to members of all ages.

Macpunk wrote:2.) Do you have to be a student attending UT?

Nope, everyone is welcome!

Our policy has always been to allow anyone with an interest in lockpicking to attend our meetings and be a part of the club, and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. :)

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Attendance is better when classes are in session and we don't start back up til the 20th.

Heh... I headed down here anyway, so if anyone sees a dorky looking guy drinking Shiner and ineptly picking in a corner, that's me. I'll hang for a while, and perhaps have better luck next time.
