Hello

That sounds good, i've never attempted to crack a combo lock before.
I've read about it though and it sounds verry interesting.

Ello. Brand new to the sport, but I too am in Melbourne.

I am looking at a few tools now.. I gather we are actually allowed to import them?

Oh. I forgot..

I do have a couple of abloy locks that belong to the old poker machine moneyboxes from the first (temporary) crown spam. Im trying to get more for trade.
(They also came with electronic door strikers for remote release)

Yes, it's legal to import tools.

The only legislation I can find potentially covering lockpicking gear is the burglary tools law - "going equipped for stealing"; so, carrying picks outside your own property without legitimate reason is not a good idea.

Huge bunches of Abloys come up on eBay here every now and then, too (as in 30 or 40 at a time).

Not meeting at the moment, looking for a quietish venue for around five people. Any suggestions?

I live in a large place (25+ bedrooms) and have a range of areas that can be used here. I am thinking of one room in particular, it has a large screen (projector) so we could view any youtube vids, instructional stuff or anything and chat about it. Theres 4 large couches (10 seaters), 2 each side of a large glass table. There lighting underneath if the standard lighting is not efficient.

The downside is I am 80 odd kms north of Melb.

Its available if everyone wants a day/weekend in the country.

Please keep me informed with any upcoming meets. I'll definitely be up for some meeting.

If it's a small group, maybe somebody's house?

I'm willing to host, so long as it's not too many people.
Cheers.

It is still a small group - 5 people or so, if everyone turns up.
The main challenge is finding somewhere everyone can get to - ideally in or near the CBD/inner public transport; some of us don't have cars.

I'll gladly host a day, so long as you're all respectable dudes, which I'm sure you all are :D

I live in Melbourne, SE suburbs, about 20 minutes from the city by train.

Otherwise I'll start looking around the CBD for some place thats available and quiet in the daytime.
Any particular requirements? Just some nice seating and probably a table will do IMHO.

Oh. I don't want to sound like I'm muscling in by the way... I'm just keen.

Keen is good.

We've had some success within both Melbourne Uni and RMIT, in the evenings. (Evening meetings work better with day jobs ;))

20 minutes train SE... that puts you around Caulfield, bit further?

Evening is fine too :0)

My mistake with the tpyo. NE, not SE.

I'm in Ivanhoe.

Hey Guys (and girls?),
Is your club still running? I was wanting to get into the picking side of things a little more as i have done a few years doing basic cutting, lock rekeying, etc at a hardware store a little while back. I enjoyed that side of the job, and when the shop sold out, i bought all their pins and cylinder followers. So yeah, long story short, where/when do you meet?

Forgot to add, i'm in Dromana, so it's a hike for me. But the occasional drive up doesn't worry me.
