So do some of the Brit' ones. Not totaly convinced that they're that good tho', i.e they tell you there's a camera close by but you never see the thing, coz there ain't one

So.... 4 pages in here... are we any closer to having an LSI chapter in the UK? It'd be nice to see a chapter set up there. For such a small area geographically, I'm surprised that you guys haven't pulled it together.

Canada's HUGE, and has 3 chapters. Possibly 4 soon. :) What's the hold up? ;)

Yeh, spose it's the same for a lot of us, but it would be nice if we can get our fingers out and sort something.
As I've said, I can probably sort a venue north of london but realise this may not suit every one.
Come on guys lets have some responses, even if it's only to tell me to bugger off :)

Right lets start,

Does anyone with some stature on this site have a place in mind that would be free to host such an event? (i dont see someone with 1 post running such a thing)

How many people will it hold?

Is there going to be a cost envolved in booking the place?

Where is the venue?

I can start,

I can get a venue and it will be available most days of the week but not weekends,

There will be a charge for it,

It will hold 30 people or so and it has toilet facilities and beer on tap,

It is in the high peak derbyshire,

In the future i plan to buy a small place that will be permently set up for such things and include a few machines and tools to make picks and cutaways if the person is safe on such things,

I can also get the LSI test kit,

I wasn't sugesting running it, just helping out by finding a location that might be more central to everyone.
It may cost something to hire but more likely some kind of small donation to the owners.
I wasn't actualy thinking long term, more somewhere that we could have an initial meeting and get the ball rolling.
Then after that mabe change location so that the same people aren't doing all the traveling.
Im not against coming up to Darbyshire but couldn't make it a regular thing.
I have one of three posible locations in mind, but obviously would need to ask the owners of said places.
I'll leave it at that if anyones interested let me know, but equally if you get something sorted somewhere else... can I come please. :D :D :D

Well if its far from me i cant bring my van/tools and stock, i can come in my car and bring my case of important tools but not regular,

Find out your places and tell us the location, we will find a central one,

I would suggest we cant and shouldnt limit who or how many come as thats not the aim of it so all is welcome,

Except jb :P

Well if youve already set off theres not a lot i can do but if you havent then i cant tonight,

But i guess you were joking,

Its a bit out of the way but the snake pass would actually be a good spot as theiur games room is rarely used and is quite a big area from meory but it has been 4 years or so since ive been up that way,

:D Yeh only joking mate.
Only said snake pass 'cause I saw it said High Peak on your profile and like I said before, we've got relatives up your neck of the woods and up in Lancashire. Have a good'n anyway. You never know we may actually get some responses and get something going on this thread to do with an LSI meet.

Um... wait... excuse my ignorance....

There are indians in the UK? This may be a wholly ignorant thing to admit to.. but I had no idea. I really thought that the indian people were a north american thing.
