USA Midwest LP101 Gathering?

Postby Omikron » 15 Dec 2005 14:35

I don't really know how many members we have in the US midwest, but if there are enough, would anyone be interested in an LP101 BBQ or something? We could have it last most of the day and it would consist of picking, BBQ, and beer (if you drink).

Would anyone else be interested in such an event?

For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

If it were near Minneapolis and sometime spring/summer-ish, I'd be down for that, but Minneapolis is already a stretch for me, so that's probably about as far as I'd go.

Perhaps once we have enough LSI chapters operating, we could hold a BBQ/LSI National Competition?

Those crazy Dutchman on the other side of the pond can drink beer and pick locks, we can do the same here!

How about this:

Anyone who is interested in this, reply with your City/State and I'll plot it on MapPoint. Then we will see who is most centrally located, and see if this is feasible.

I'll go first:

Kansas City, MO - the home of BBQ and Jazz!

I'd also suggest Chicago, IL - always a center point in the midwest. Plus there's the Schwinn museum up there I want to go to...

I'm from Minnesota, towns too small to say where so I propose La Crosse. I heard there's beer there? I would bring a lot of my DIY tools and other stuff to trade.
