A VALLEY OF BROKEN MEDECO KEYS-an enlightenment

these were the Medeco broken keys which were accumulated thru the years of its usefullness. these were not cut or break intentionally, the breakage were due i pressumed to metal fatigue, even good key like these has its own due. an the enlightening part, One of my most problem solver tool that prove an ALL-IN-ONE in removal for all these years. pls see pic.

From limited viewing of your picture, can I presume that most of these keys went to S&G 833 type padlocks? I noticed that most seem to be broken at the first cut and not at the shoulder. Was the user just not getting the key in all the way before twisting it off?

Hi Raymond,

The bow on S&G military locks usually doesn't look like that it is either round or square bow for the control keys. The keys in his pic look like the Liberty bow, but I don't think they sell Liberty where he is.

We have the same problem on our DBK system at work, some of the doors have a 6 cut on the first position, and we get a credit from our Medeco locksmith every time someone breaks a key off in the door.

hi guys these keys comes from all sort of locks. dbl.prof cyls.,knob locks, IC cores, padlocks, mortise cyl. its an exclusive keyways.

That is quite a mountain of keys! All I can think is either you've been a locksmith for a long time, or you are the only Medeco guy in the country. Either way, it's impressive.
