If you buy the book from the publisher (Charles Thomas Publishers) does it come with the CD's or do you need to buy them seaperately?

Just got mine a couple of weeks ago. The 1700 or so pages are split into 2 physical books (volumes 1 and 2). The book set comes with a single demo CD (3 days of access) and a certificate of ownership.

eric did you get your lss from a different online bookstore if so where? I have the cc thomas catalog and it does state 2 volumes when i but it i wouls rather have 1 volume

Well folks, I am probably crazy but I bought the book after having the discs for a few weeks. I travel a great deal and the wife will not permit me to take her notebook.

How do you prove that you are a locksmith to get the level 2 version of LSS?

I would also be interested in knowing what exactly is asked for by 'security clearance'.

Is he looking for a military clearance, a civilian clearance, or some kind of proof of being a locksmith?

By all accounts that I am reading, this is the way to go - so I would like to get the most information-packed version I can regardless of price...

(drumroll as I meander back to the point)

...but his website does not seem to describe what is meant by security clearance and I have not found any info here in LP101 regarding it.

This is a quote from his website on the requirements for each version for anyone who might have any trouble finding it.

PUBLIC VERSION: The public version contains two volumes, and may be purchased by anyone.

LOCKSMITH VERSION: This six volume set will be sold to locksmiths and security professionals only. It will not be available to the general public.

GOVERNMENT VERSION: This fourteen volume set will only be sold to government agencies, law enforcement officers, contractors, or training facilities that have contracts with any government agency involving security. A private contractor must provide a letter stating that the material will only be distributed or utilized in the training of government agencies, or contractors working directly for government agencies. LSS+ will not be exported to any country on the DOC restricted list, or to any buyer that is deemed a security risk by the author. Any questions should be directed to the author at mwtobias@security.org. You may also call 1.605.334.1155 in the United States. The author, and not the dealer, shall have the sole discretion in approving all sales.
