Welcome!!!
∙ Read the Rules(and I mean ALL OF THEM) ∙ Use the search Function before creating a new thread, your question might have already been answered, or atleast, addressed. ∙ Happy Reading(which there is tons to do) and Happy Picking.
Use this for all your common questions please Search
Many issues/questions have been addressed many times. If you do post a topic that has been addressed many times, without doing a search, people may start floobing*, Don't take this as an insult or a way around your question, thats natural when questions have been asked many times...
*Floobing - good humored, teach them the rules, noob flaming - get used to this term, because it happens alot.

Greetings to you all, I have been reading practicing & searching for as much info as I can in this wonderful forum. I first started picking about a month ago as a hobby & find it fascinating. I did have a CD I used on my computer from the guy that somebody on this board posted links to 3 short movies showing him picking a car trunk, a door lock & a pad lock. Everybody here was commmenting on how hard he used his picks on the locks & how he was destroying his picks. I did receive four picks & a double tension wrench with the kit I ordered & I was picking the same way he was, pretty hard & I managed to break 2 of the picks already. I purchased it before finding this site. I did manage to pick a Master Padlock, a couple of filing cabinets, a desk drawer, my front door , my garage door, my 1997 chevy pickup door, & i got to tell you I was shocked & amazed. I have now ordered a set from Lockpick shop that was suggested on one of the topics in the FAQ section. I will continue to practice & learn to be more mechanical & less forceful when picking. Thank You for all the great advice.

I've been lurking on this site for about 3 days now. With help from some of the threads I've made my own home made picks and just a few minutes ago I picked my first lock (my back door) so I figured it was about time to join the group. I feel like a freakin ninja now

Welcome to LP101. Make sure that you fill out your profile so we know where you're from and to search before posting a thread. Also, it's not a good idea to pick locks that you depend on, it's better to get some practice locks. Other than that, welcome and happy picking!
