Eh. I've been reading around the site for a little while now, and just decided to register so I could stop being an outsider. My first set of picks will be in transit as of the 30th, so I'll use this time to settle in and ask a bunch of questions without searching old threads first. Including how to pick a safe without giving any detailed info about the lock itself, and starting new, off-topic posts that have already been discussed. , I love being new.

hello, my name is Suzuri, and I am a retail employee.
It all began about a year ago when I started working at a hardware store. Not just a hardware store, mind, but one that specialized in doors and door hardware. and had a lockshop.

After wandering up that way after my shift was over and reading through the 'Big Black Book' our lovely lady locksmith had assembled, I learned a lot about how to build a master key system and that Primus was mighty nifty for certain reasons and the emhart was a wee bit intimidating. But I still hadn't touched a cylinder.

a month later, they started cross training me.

Now I was a retail employee/back-up in the lockshop person.

a little while later I tried my hand a picking, and got a few things to open up for me. yay ted the tool.

then I started picking stuff for work. This is where things got/get a little frustrating. If I can't pick a returned lockset, we have to drill it in order to re-use it. a little while ago I pulled even with our lady locksmith in picking, but I don't have as many oportunities to practice as I might like, nor do I have someone better than me around to give me clues to what will later, no doubt, seem obvious. So, locksmistress put a bug in my ear about this site. So:

Technically you are right, but even with rule 16 there are limits. It is up to the moderators to exercise their discretion when required.

Being a mod doesn't make you immune to censure from other moderators. Trust me, I know.
