The blackish looking end is actually really shiny. It's just a reflection of some other dark space. If anyone would give me suggestions for improvements that would be great.
Seeing as how it's my first pick, I of course have no experience using it. I read the MIT guide to lockpicking and have been eating up the info here. All I have to do is sit down and practice now.

Hey everybody,
I have been picking for about a year now, I just recently puchased southourds psx-17 but I perviously used blowgun needles or music wire and random things as tension tools. I got into this from knowing/joining the technical theater group at my school (most of our tools ar locked up and the derector of the group rarely had keys). I can open most of the locks i com across 'xcept those deadbolts that require insane amounst of tension. But, im wondering what type of padlock i shoud purchase as a challenge. Like a seven or five pin with security pins and what not. any recomendations?

Welcome to LP101. Try to use the search button because i've seen that question around somewere. I don't know where you're from so I propbably can't really help you. If you where from Europe I would advise you to buy an high security euro cylinder.

I'm just here as a sponge. I'm mainly interested in combo locks, but I guess I'll have to work my way there. In the meantime, I'll read everything else I can.
Murphy's Laws apply here, too.
