Mike, beautiful tools, I wish I could make my homemade picks look that good.
Varjeal, I've posted this a couple of times but, every time I see some one interested in those automotive tools I post it again. The Tool Warehouse sells the full set (Grand Master Set) for $81.24+s/h where as lockpicks.com sells the equivalent (both the regular set and GM set) for $119.95+$69.95=$189.90+s/h that’s a savings of $108.66+s/h, I don't think there is anyone else out there that sells them for cheaper. The link for The Tool Warehouse is http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/LT-620.html and it is a legit site, I bought my set off of there with no problems.
*note-if your first order from The Tool Warehouse is over $99 you get free shipping.

Thanks again for the positive comments guys.
Varjeal, I don't think I'll be selling the auto picks even though I don't use them that much. I'll probably start using them in the near future, if I can tear myself away from LP101 long enough..........
Salzi, if you've got a Dremel and the right stones/disks or a bench grinder/emery cloth and a little spare time, you can make anything look good. Don't try to remove too much material at once, make many passes and remove slight amounts. For finishing, step down the grade of paper or Dremel stone, to the finest you have. Smoothly finished tools cause less wear/damage to the inside of the plug and pins and are kinder to your hands too.
Technik, the one piece tweezer wrench is made from a wiper blade strip, but one of the tangs is twisted 90 degrees in relation to the other, to simulate a Falle variable torque wrench. Here's a close up:

If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

Picked the Master 230 today......Yay! After a post mortem, I found that the spring were indeed compressed from my Lockie mate using a pick gun. This must be an older lock, as there were no spools in it, but the pins were config'd lo, hi, lo, hi, lo, which made it pretty hard. Especially hard with the compressed springs, considering that No2 lower pin was sticking above the shear line!!
After repairing the springs, cleaning and lubing, this lock now works perfectly.

salzi: Thanks for the website...I'll definitely check that out. Not looking to buy any at the moment, but those are fairly inexpensive compared to many sets I've seen.

My picks are clean because i use a silicon lubricant dry film - no residue, and if there is wipe it off. Where as graphite gets stuck to that metal and wont come off

Hi !
This is my first contribution to lp101
I'm a 21 yo french student, practicing lockpicking since 3 years .
I make my own tools with those metal things there are in the car cleaner bristles ( excuse my poor english ! )
But I think i'll buy a 7 pin tubular pick, because i don't have material to make one myself .
So here is my little set :

Not exactly, 6 euros for 1,20m
So, that's all that I own, but I'm actually looking for making a tubular lock pick to complete my set .
