Canadian law still gives me headaches. The worst part is when you get the court "reinterpreting" the law. Sometimes the courts decisions can completely change a section of law, despite what it says. Those are the ones that annoy me.
In some cases, it needed to be done, but in others? Well, lets just say that logic isn't always the strong suite here.

So, now that we have the whole legality thing straightened up, have you been looking at any picks?

ow definitely. I'm like a kid in a candy store. I was looking in lockpickshop.com under the different pick kits and found that combo number six looks very appealing. Many different types of picks, including a pick gun, tubular pick, warded picks, jigglers, and a 32 piece set....and I think there's some more.

I too am looking around for picks and I live in Ontario, so Mr. Ules, if you buy something from lockpickshop.com would you mind letting me know how the shipping speed and prices are?
Thanks

definitely, but the only thing that concerns me is the brokerage fee. I once bought something that was thirty to fourty dollars and it ended up being around ninty dollars after the fact.

Oh, about that.
Request shipping via US Post, or FedEx. FedEx's rates are better than UPS coming into Canada. UPS likes to play with those brokerage fees.
Also, like I said, even if Customs opens the things, they won't seize them. I've had a package or two opened, and they came straight away.
So, FedEx or USPS. God I hate UPS.

Yes, I do believe so. It's been a while since I processed an order with them. I'm actually a locksmith, and half of the time I get stuff through two local distributors.
Although I have ordered from most of the sites that are listed, including www.lockpicks.com and www.lockpickshop.com

Oh hell yes. For years.
I made my first set when I was 14 or 15. There are pictures of them here somewhere.
At any rate, the first palce I ordered from was via mail order. That was painful. All the time to get there, and then process the order, and then to get back to here. The post office in my town used to have a customs office back then, and they were inspected the day they arrived. Never said a word, I paid the duties or taxes or something and went on my way.
By the by, how much time have you spent on the forums here lately? You almost seem to be here as much as I am.

Ow I spend a lot of time here. Whenever I get home log in. Then I check to see if there are any new posts, or any worth responding to for that matter.

Yeah, this place can get addicting.
I don't quite know how, but all of a sudden one day I was a moderator. Amazing how much more time that takes up.
