Hey everyone. I recently became interested in lock picking so I am looking everywhere, and I am glad I found this site. I have a question about purchasing lock picks. I have been to a few sites like southord.com, and the sites have posted, "By placing an order for locksmithing tools, the buyer asserts to be, without fraud or deception, a bonafied member of the locksmithing industry, or other qualified personnel.", which detered me from placing an order. I was wondering if they are strict about this, and if someone could point me to the right sites, I would appreciate it.

As they mentioned in another post they are just covering their arses. You can still order.

"If you consider yourself a bona fide locksmith, you can order all you want.
Just be a sweet boy and play nice with your new toys.
Don't do any naughty things. "

...That's how i interpret them.

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).

Cheers,
UWSDWF

Introduction

Postby dc0de » 4 Nov 2006 15:22

Nice site, I'm new to lockpicking, and I am seriously thinking of creating a locksmith business, since I have learned how easy it is to open locks at a recent convention.

I know that there are a large number of locksmiths, however, I feel that it is a good use of the skills I've learned, and since I'm interested in learning more... it's the natural progression.

I started picking this year, (2007), and purchased a Southord 20pc set, and I strongly recommend getting to know the Hacker Pimps, http://www.hackerpimps.com, as they are very well versed in the art of picking...

I look forward to sharing information with the entire community...

Welcome all,

I hope you are all enjoying the site as much as I do. Just remember two things:

1) Search for answers before posting a question.
2) Only pick your own locks, and not the one's you rely on (front door, car door, safe).

If you have questions you might want to start here:

Thanks and enjoy yourselves,

Hi, I was lurking here for some time and finally decided to join. Thanks for the welcome. I hope I can contribute adequately. I am no native english speaker so please bear with me and feel free to correct errors in grammar and spelling when I make them.

Hey, I just joined a few days ago. I've been interested in lockpicking for a while, and I only found this site a bout a week ago. I've sort of glanced around and seen how expansive it is. I look forward to exploring it further.
