I have been interested in lockpicking since I was a small child (Houdini was my hero) but only recently obtained a usable set of picks and I'm just starting to eagerly learn.

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting. Cause everyone should HYSF as well as there Pick-fu.
If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.
Cheers,
UWSDWF

Hi All. Just joined up and have been eagerly reading!
I got into the craft originally a few years back but with limited access to tools and materiels, could only go as far as opening a few 3 pin padlocks. In the last week I've gotten back into it and made some nice picks on my grinder.
So far I can consitently open my Mastlock No 5, Masterlock No 150, a 5 pin cyclinder (no secruity pins), 5 pic cyliner (one mushroom). And also a cheap padlock and wafer lock (I don't count these usually as they pretty much open themselves).
I'm still working on one nasty Lockwood 4 pin padlock with at least 3 spools and a restricted keyway. I got home last night, ate dinner then started on it. Was still going through to 11:00pm and still no luck! I shall make a post dedicated to this lock soon and hopefuly pick up some tips. Although I think Lockwood is only in Australia. Oh well, we shall see.

Welcome to the forums! Don't forget to fill in all your information in your profiles such as location. This information helps us determine where you can buy pick sets, what pick sets work best for locks in your area, and what kind of locks you have in your area.
Don't forget to read as much as you can and only ask questions after you've searched for at least 10 mins on your topic. You'll be a real benefit to the forums when you can respond to as many questions as you ask, and the questions you do ask solves problems for many others as well as yourself.
Welcome again everyone.

Hi,
I'm assuming my thread has been deleted becuase you either think I'm about to rip someone of, or alternatively because I haven't posted prior to this. If I'm honest it would never have occured to me to post an introduction; they always seem rather trite and entirely pointless to me.
In general I don't have any interest in lockpicking, but that may change. I have a healthy interest in mechanical timepieces, and this is just another extension of miniature engineering.
The reason I posted is because it made sense to ask people like yourselves about the Eurolock problem I have, when I'm getting no sense from the local "professionals".

Hello digital_blue,
Its been a while but I thought I would check in and let you know what happened with that ticker of mine. Turns out that I had about an inch hole in there along with some veins that just didnt want to drain in the right place so I ended up having open heart surgery. I barely made it, but Im still here. Got back a short time ago. I ended up picking basic master padlocks in the hospital which freaked out the nurses because most of thier storage cabinets had the same locks on them. Anyway just wanted to say another hello and thanks again everyone for the great site. Now Im back into searching and reading, that master 140 is driving me nuts.
Take care

Just getting back to lock picking after a break, and trying to find all the forums around that talk about this topic. Are there any other good ones that anyone here knows about?
