For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting. Cause everyone should HYSF as well as there Pick-fu.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.
Cheers,

Hello, everyone. I've been picking locks for a few years, and came across this site. So far it's been a wealth of information. Thanks for all the work you guys have put into it.

Hello everyone. I have been interested in the art of locks and picking for quite a long time now. You know, every teenager wants to be able to be TEH UBER LOXSMITH!!!111

Anyhow, I am no longer a teenager and I want to be able to look back on my life and know that I did the things I wanted to, so I went ahead and spent 4 hours reading and brushing up/learning my lock theory, and ordered a pick set from the pick shop (lockpickshop). I am pretty stoked about the whole thing, and can't wait to start. This site has been MOST helpful.

I think I will go to a trailer home junkyard and buy some practice locks. Seriously, I can get them for less than a dollar. Seems that a lock is useless to the average individual if they have lost the key. :D

Anyhow, thanks for the forum, and the information. I hope to be around quite a bit.

Another noob!

Postby Stack » 27 Aug 2007 20:18

Hello everyone... yet another noob here.

I too have been interested in the sport for a while and decided to give it a shot.

Ordered up a "package" but unfortunately my mail arrived via UPS opened. Everything was there but the picks.. bummer :(

So, I gave making my own picks a shot and wouldn't you know that my very first rake popped open my Masterlock 104 in about 5 seconds! I thought it was a fluke so I grabbed another Master from my neighbor and it too opened like magic. What a feeling! I know it's a rake and not pin picking but still fun.

Ordered a second set of picks from a different shop - will see if they show up.

Anyway - thanks for all of the great info guys. See you around the forums.

Hi, I've just taken up lockpicking as a hobby after seeing the coverage from the Defcons and reading up about it. I just got my pickset through the post today and picked my first lock (B&Q own brand padlock). Great site, although at the moment most of the information is probably going over my head :?

Hello guys!
Long time ago I found very old lock without key and I really wanted to opedn it. It leaded to lockpicking! Today I finally opened that lock with homemade lockpicks (made from safety pins) and I recorded it with my camera! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=175Ot_eFU14

I can say I have mastered this lock... it is too easy and now Im wondering why I was so exited when I opened in 2 and half minutes T_T
I can now open that lock within 5 seconds using only my tension wrench...

I registered to this page so I can learn more about locks and having good time with you guys!
