Hello everyone.
I visited this site while doing some research. I am an ARMY Military Police Officer and SRT (special Reaction team) you know it as SWAT Team leader. Recently while going over some training scenarios the idea of having our team members trained to pick locks in order to preserve certain aspects of stealth entry had come about. At first the powers that be didn't think it was necessary and steted that it just wasn't feasable given the current budget but when we said we would do all of the training and pay for the supplies ourselves we were quickly given the Commanders blessing.
I had only read about lockpicking on the net and had seen it on tv and movies so I set out to do some hardcore research. Luckily I found this site. Within a couple of days I had downloaded some templates, ground out and finished some picks and picked open a Master no.3 padlock. I have since been to lowes and bought several other locks and can say that after some study on here and some practice at home I can now open almost all of them very quickly.
I am new to this but I feel that once I teach the first Lock Picking block of instruction at Camp Dason on April 4th and 5th that I will have many other teammates coming to this site. Not only is this skill going to improve our mission success rate but it also fun as well.
To all of you who maintain this site and to all of you who constantly add info, tutorials, templates, how to's, and everything else, Keep Up The Good Work!
Sincerely
SSG F.R. 305th MP CO SRT

That's awesome!
I'm also serving and due to my line of work they've started teaching us rudimentary lockpicking stuff (more for evasion or escape than for covert entry though...) and what little I've learned has been fun but after being taught some of the usefullness of it, most of us in the class felt the subject was long overdue.

Hi all. I am an active member at one of the other sites, but have noticed that many of my searches for info lead here. Also, many of the members there say there is a lot of info here. I hope to be able to contribute and to get a lot of help
Please forgive me my dark sense of humor. I will try to keep it in check.

Hi!
I'm a Swede temporarily living in the USA. I've just got into lockpicking and am having a blast, it's such a fun hobby!
This is a very helpful and informative site, thanks y'all for being a part of "the community"!
(Now I'm just drooling for access to the advanced forums, as I'll be moving to Finland next summer and roughly 90-95% of ALL locks there are Abloys... )

Btw., is there a way to edit a message once you've posted it, if you for example made a typo?
