Hi Everybody!
New to lockpicking. Was shown how to rake a lock the first time two weeks ago, and have since picked up a basic lock pick kit and a padlock to practice on... Spent the last two hours lurking around the forum picking up tips and tricks.
This seems to be the best lock picking resource on the internet, and I'm glad to be part of it.

Well, Every story starts with a "There was once" In this case it start there too.
I always watched those movies where they could pick a lock within seconds. Facinating how fast they do it. ( Wondering if those acters can do it with a real lock too) After watching another one i was intresting in the Hobby picklocking. Since then i am searching the web for information and came to this site. Tomorow i will get my first set with an easy to start manuel ( i will need it). Some info about myself: I am maikel 23 years from the netherlands. My hobbies are Archery, Shooting, Skydiving and maybe Picklocking.
See you all on the forum Aixu

Hey all, Daniel from Australia here.
Recently found out about lock picking from another site I'm on, someone had a key ring folding lockpick, and I was intrigued. 10 minutes later, I had ordered a Southord 17 PC set & a 3 Pin practise lock.
It arrived via FEDEX on my desk yesterday afternoon, I had picked my first lock after dinner last night.
Working through the MIT guide to lockpicking, and training myself not to look at the lock, but use the feel through the pick and torque bar.
I had a brain operation when I was born to relieve some fluid on the brain, as a result I lost a lot of dexterity in the ends of my fingers, however this new challenge I have given myself will return some of that dexterity back to me.
Look forward to learning a lot.
thanks

Hello my name is Geoff and I am new to lockpickin' as well as this site ^^ nice to meet everyone. I had interest in lockpicking a few years ago when my friend would take out his set and a padlock at parties to "awe" people I just didn't have the patience for it until I matured a little lol. Now that I've gotten more patient I've learned the fun pickin locks brings heh. So far I have picked an abus (idk what series I forget) multiple master locks, and countless cheap locks. nothin to be too proud of but after a month or so I think im doin' alright.

Hi everyone, I just joined today, mostly because I have lost the key to my Crafstman tool box and it is no longer made. So I need to pick the lock so I can change it out.
Any tips will be appreciated!

Who told you that? Of course it can be made. Go to a real locksmith with the original keycode number and they can make you a key.

Bring it to a locksmith, they'll pick it open for you. Safes and lock boxes are not for beginners, so we can't give you an easy answer.
We're more about picking as a challenge, not really a forum like so many of those pc repair forums that you can bring your windows error and 10 guys will tell you how to fix that error, and 25 guys will ask additional useless questions because they're just guessing at what the problem might be. In this case you have a small safe with a dead battery and no key, so teaching you picking from scratch would be tedious, unless you want to get into it as a fun hobby. But, just to get the box open, visit the local locksmith and bring the safe with you.
