Hi there. Just registered a minute ago. I've been messing with lock picking for years now but never knew that there were organizations and even forums for lock-pickers out there! My best friend gave me his father's old Life LockAid gun a ways back and I've been messing with that on and off with decent results but I'm better by hand. I've been making my own picks based on trial and error as far as shape and materials and I look forward to learning the RIGHT way to do it!

wow...it's been a while since someone posted here. So, Let's say the threads not dead.
The name's Locke and i'm here for a professional purpose. I'm a Electromecanic, and it happens often on the shift to encounter machinery with locks which keys were long lost. It's a way easier to cut it and set another one, but, i want to get myself aknowledged about locks and how to pick them good.
I hope you guys are up with newcomers. Ready to learn and work with you.

Well, I just joined a few minutes ago, and figured I shouldn't just lurk around with an account. I haven't started lockpicking yet (aside from playing around with a lock on one of the drawers in a desk at home once or twice), and I plan on making my own set of picks in the near future, if I ever manage to spend the effort of getting the materials I need... I'm too lazy sometimes.

Hey, i Just Joined and im pretty new to lockpicking ... i tried to lockpick my back door's lock but still cant get it ... i guess im gonna have to stop using a small screwdriver as pick and the flat thin piece from my nail clipper as a tension wrench and get myself some real tools. Could someone tell me how to make one or where to buy some ?
Thx

You shouldn't pick locks you rely on, period. You've come to the right place to get all your questions answered. For making picks, look in the lockpicks -manual section of the forum. For information about buying picks look in the general information forum.

Well I thought I would say hello. Joined last week, found the site while looking for some info on plug spinners. All I can say is wow, and yes I found the info I was looking for.
I have been picking locks for about 15 years, mostly hobby and/or helping friends and family out of a pinch. I have mostly concentrated on basic locks found in everyday use (Master padlocks, door knobs, some deadbolts, etc.). I have had the opportunity to “legally†use my skills at work over the last couple of years with mixed success. After getting my you now what handed to me the other day while trying to open a basic deadbolt under stress, I decided it was time to take my skills to the next level. By the way, I got the deadbolt open, but I was only able to open the wrong way and I did not have a plug spinner (Have one now). Well that’s why I joined, to learn. Looking forward to reading your posts, and sponging up everything I can.

I'm happy beyond belief to have found this incredible site. I've been interested in picking locks since I was about 9 or 10 watching the Rockford Files and Mission: Impossible. Took me years of trial and error to pick my first lock (a Brinks padlock), but I'm firmly hooked and fiddle around with picking whenever I have some free time (like just recently since I've been out of commission after knee surgery). It's a pleasure reading and learning from all the pickers in this community that I never even knew existed. Thanks to all for sharing!

Ayup I'm new here. Hi everyone. :D I'm a novice and I'm probably gonna stay that way for quite a while since I can rarely get a hold of any locks to practice on. But I hope to learn more from browsing the forum.
That's all. :)

hello all
I m interested in locks for some time now. Unfortunately, I haven t developed my ROUGE-class abilities, so I don t get bonus points to my mechanical skills and my dexterity modifier is very low as well. And as you can see, my other hobby is AD&D : )
