Hey all!

So i am new to the site and VERY new to lockpicking
i just have this fascination with it.. its a combination of spy movies and my love of taking things apart.. also the amount of times i have locked my keys in my car :P

haha actually i am a huge car guy (my big hobby) and i have replaced a lot of locks, and i have also taken a few lock cylinders apart to clean them up so they aren't so sticky! .. and well i just thought it would be cool to learn how to work these without the use of a key!

anyways go easy on me.. im canadian!

Well I'm new so i guess i'll introduce myself here.
I'm new to lockpicking but I'm curious and like mechanics and taking things apart. So naturally I thought lockpicking would be cool. I haven't really done it before, but I know some stuff from taking apart locks and reading about it online. I would really like to know more.
I'm really a computer guy, but i always want to know how to do stuff and I enjoy puzzles and the like.

Hey lock people,

I started a thread in the buy/sell/trade section but thought I should introduce myself here. Right now I'm a student studying electromechanical engineering and have been fascinated with locks for a few years but never really got into it. Until now!

I figured this would be a good place to network with other locksmiths/pickers as I'm on the verge of deciding whether to try my hand at a locksmithing apprenticeship or continue on the school path.

Canadian locksmiths are more than welcome to contact me! :)

Was told I need a hobby

Postby alexxaviersdad » 6 Dec 2010 1:25

So here I am. Army Soldier doc's told me I need a hobby. Was watching an ITS video and he was picking locks thought it was cool. so I taught myself how to pick watching youtube. I have a $20 southord set and a jackknife. I can pick most padlocks but deadbolts still prove to be a little tricky open to any ideas or help. Thanks

Time for another newbie.

Just getting into this hobby. I have some picks and different locks coming this week and I can't wait to get my hands on them. I'm really looking forward to learning from you guys, then hopefully I'll one day be able to impart some knowledge of my own.

Hi you guys! You guessed it probably right: I'm new here. My native language is Dutch and that's the reason my English is poor and yes, I'm from the Netherlands. Reason for me to join this forum is because I'm fascinated with locks (I'm sure I'm the only one here with that fascination :-) For my living I'm a chemical engineer, so I will be more then pleased to anwser questions chemical related (I know; this ain't a chemforum but hey, i very much enjoined the info here and maybe my knowlegde might be helpful to anyone)
How I found this site: after became (a little bit) experienced with bumping and then manual picking, the KLOM was purchased. Nice toy, with limitations. Then my attention was drewn to the german 'Multipick-Control', the very fancy electric pick gun which would do magic with oscillating things etc. But the price of €1000 is, for me at least, to much, so I decided to build one myself. Searsching the net I came across this site with very useful info, so that's my reason to become a member. The first time for me, so I a little bit nervous ;-) But seriously, I would like to meet people also building MIC/PIC controlled devices and swap ideas, experiences. Pretty long intro...but hope you guys forgive me ;-D

Hey guys, as you may be able to tell I'm very new here and to picking in general but my friend coerced me into the hobby and became enthralled when I picked my first padlock (that I bought solely for this use of course).

i'm new to the forums. been lurking a few days now, trying to get an idea where i'd like to start.

i like the feel of what i see so far, friendly and helpful, but mindful of not encouraging people to do naughty things

anyway, i'm interested in trying out a new hobby, so perhaps shall be talking to a few of you sooner or later

well, welcome! I have some very specific idea's about electric picking, that's one of my fascinations and I hope to find same-minded people here! Also, my 'first project' using ecspacially blended polymers to replace the (KLOM) needles were 'my first succes'. But so far no reactions of interest, and that's a pitty because I believe I can make at least some people (very) happy with my experiments and final product.

New to the Site. Been browsing for a few weeks. Figured i should go ahead and register. I started Lock picking as a hobby something that is pretty fun to do in my free time. I love seeing the expression on my friends/family's faces when i pick there padlocks in no time at all.

I will contribute as best i can but with my little experience im mainly just going to be learning and asking questions.
