Big Hi from the UK, picked a padlock at work one day and slim-jim'd a van at work after locking the keys inside and have been fascinated with lockpicking ever since, have just bought a Southord 5 piece and I'm looking forward to getting it put to use, I like to know how things work in depth so if I latch onto you I apologise in advance but I'm just trying to get a better understanding of something, would also like a good place to buy some more tools eventually so if some of you seasoned 'pro's' could help out there that would be awesome.
Looking at a 7pin tubular pick next but we'll see how things go.
Anyway great site with a wealth of information and I hope to see a few of you round.
Nik.

I made a great skeleton key pick from a coat hanger with advice from this site a few years ago. Now, finally, I'm back and joined up. What a great site.

Hey Everyone!

Well, one night I was bored, and I decided to look into something I have always been interested in, Lockpicking.
I learned how to make a simple pick and wrench out of paper clips, and decided to give it a shot.
I had huge doubts, but I tried, and on my third try to get the lock open, it opened, and I sat back for a second,
in disbelief. Then I stood up, danced around for a good half hour, so happy that I actually accomplished something cool. Then, I sat back down, and did it again, and kept doing it xP
I finally found something that I find a lot of fun! So I am looking forwards to being active on the forum and learning/discussing this kind of stuff with the experts x)

Mighty fine and a great big western howdy fellow pickers. I'm a self employed locksmith/alarm tech/and I do a smattering of surveillance camera systems design and installation in red deer alberta canada. Yours is the first forum or like minded on-line community that I;ve encountered that isn't trashy, irresponsible or inhabited by pathetic little wannabe second story men and woman who if only given brains, guts and intestinal fortitude would all be international jewel thieves. I am honestly impressed with the caliber of content found here and find it genuinely gratifying to discover a very tangible sense of honesty and ethical values throughout the entire site. Well done people. Kudos to all!!!
Happy Trails and please support our troops.

Hi there. Long time listener, first time caller. I've been interested in locks and picking for decades but never really got into the nitty gritty of things and looking to dive into the deep end now.

Hey everyone, I recently saw an article about locksport and was very excited to see a legal and community sport based around lock picking and the like. I have always had a great interest in the lore of lock picking but have always been hesitant to look into due to its general shady view in the general public but after finding sites like this it has motivated me to order a set of picks and give it a go. I look forward to talking to everyone and getting started!

Hi there, I'm Gary and have been working part time as a locksmith while waiting to be made redundant (for 18 months!) and have been working full time for 3 months on warrant work and bits and pieces that I have generated locally.I love this job and wish I had started years ago.....anyway I am near Castleford in West Yorkshire and if anybody can recommend good i.e paying subcontract work for a good bloke who WILL answer the phone 24/7 and attend with a smile, liveried van, uniform, good stock levels and tools, and most important trained by MLA standard institutions and well practised then please let me know!
I know there will have been 1000s of similar posts but I have to get going!!!!!

Anyway, great tuitional posts and forums seem to have a good buzz.......

Alright.
So I'm new here and this is my first post. I had visited LP101 in the past and I've found lots of great information, thank you everyone.
A little bit about me. I always had curiosity about picking locks, but it hasn't until about 2 months ago I started doing some hands on the field. What made me take the step towards actually doing it, and not just watching youtube videos and say "oh that's cool", was my new job. I work at an apartment complex where I was taught how to cut keys, replace, install, re-pin and re-key locks. I really love it. Lock picking has come in handy at my job, the property I work in is rather large and sometimes keys get lost, residents get evicted and such so I get to practice quite a bit.

I'm looking forward to be part of these community.

Hi,

I'm steph, i was working as a full time locksmith for a few years until last year. My user name may give a few a clue as to what I'm up to now.

I have just become a member of the UAP Tradelocks team.

I caught up with a few people recently, especially at the MLA show For those that I didn't catch up with hi and for those I don't know yet, hi to you too.
