Hello, been lurking the site for a few weeks, just thought I'd finally say, well "Hello" Very nice site with a lot of great info, I have learned quite a bit in these few weeks. I can already pick all of the regular Kwikset locks in my apartment and garage in just a few minutes. I have already made my first DIY picks, and have started some Bogotas. All learned from this site very nice.
Thanks, and hope to get to know more of you.

Wow, I am really excited about this site! Poking around online, I recently rediscovered an interest in lock picking that I haven't explored since I was a kid. This site seems to have SO MUCH awesome information.
I'm getting into this as a hobby for now, but I think it would be cool to do some kind of work, maybe on the side, with locks etc. I'm going to find some picks and locks and start playing around...

Hi everyone. I am a carpenter/joiner by trade and have changed dozens of locks and doors. I have often thought about getting to know about lockpicking but up until recently I have never bothered. A few weeks ago I decided that if I could learn the skill/art of picking it would be beneficial workwise so here I am. At present I am making my own lock picks and tools. I have a few old/new locks but havent picked anything as yet!!! extremely frustrated but time will tell.

New here. long time practitioner, though new to this site.
I have been practicing this skill for the past 10 years, and find much enjoyment in it.
anyway,
i have a specific question about a key blank, and throughout many searches through the site, came up with no answers.
i will post my question in a different thread, but it seemed logical to introduce myself here first.
take care!

Hi my name's Paul and I'm a lock picking newbie [clapping and applause]
I'm also wondering if there is anyone in Perth Western Australia who has this strange affliction / attraction to wanting to open locks or am I the first?
I doubt it seeing as the town's full of locksmiths so they're obviously a bunch of crazies who also like to play with locks!!
PM me if you're in Perth WA and can help me out. I will get my own sets but need some more locks to practice on and develop my skills :o)
Thanks and regards Knuckle Head aka Paul :o)

Hi all, I've been interested in locksport for a long time after learning to open simple padlocks as a kid. I've already seen a lot of good info in here and friendly people. Looks like a nice place to hang out. :)

Hi I'm Louis and I'm from south Louisiana. Locksmithing isn't my profession but it's a hobby I'm picking up.
I have a legal question for anyone to answer concerning car locks. Suppose you come across a child locked in a hot car and you feel that child is in danger. Of course you should call the police or fire department right away, but would it be illegal for you to pop the car lock (being the car belongs to a stranger)?

I would like to join the Combo group. Have an article to write there on a very fast way to try a combo padlock that I discovered.

Ahoy there! I've been interested in locks and locksmithing as long as I can remember, and have practiced picking off and on for several years. I've managed to get a few locks open here and there, but despite reading a fair amount about lock picking I can't say I've ever really become proficient at it. I guess you could say I generally have a pretty clear understanding of what I'm doing wrong, but haven't quite managed to get the "touch". But that's okay—even if I never get really good at it, locksmithing is still a fun hobby for me!
