I love hacksaw blade material for pick making... except for 1 thing... they love to rust I was looking for some stainless steel stock and thought of stainless steel rulers as easily available material ... on ebay they sell for like $2 for 5 rulers of 6'' each and each are wide enough to split down the middle and make a whole bunch of picks with them..
Anyone has any experience with them please??

Hard to say. Any stainless steel rulers I've had were either really thick, too thick for picks, or thin and bent really easy with no springiness so they would keep the bend instead of springing back into shape like a pick needs to be able to do. I guess the only way to be sure is to get one of whatever model you're looking at and see what the thickness and temper of the steel is like.

Well, we want flexibility but not too much of it either. Did you actually make any picks with this drain snake material @VashTSPD?

For thick picks (maybe 25-30 thousandths) I use those snakes all the time. It's very stiff, but doesn't want to break. I've only ever broken one of mine before, and that was because I used it as a lever for something.
