Facto door locks

Postby having a blast » 13 Oct 2016 19:29

Hello

I want to make a impression of a Facto Bola keyed entry door lock. I found online that the blank required is a Weiser. I have tried the W5 and W3 blanks but they do not fit. Also I was told that the keyway is very similar to a Kwikset so I tried that and it indeed fitted nicely but the pin marks do not line up with the Weiser key pin spacing as found on the depth and spacing chart.

Does anyone know the correct blank I should use for this lock?

Thanks.

If the key blank fits in the keyway well, then it is the correct blank.

Depth and spacing have nothing to do with the blank. When impressioning, I almost never look up the depth and spacing specs for the lock. I file where I see good marks, and do not file where I do not see good marks. That will give you the depth and spacing.

If the lock is older or worn, the depths will not match the specs anyway.

Thanks Gordon

I guess I will give the Kwikset blank another try.
