Shipping Lockout Specialist Course to Canada

Postby rothbard26 » 25 Jul 2006 16:18

Hi to everyone in the forum. This is my first post. :) I bought a lockout course from locksmithbiz.com that includes a lockpick set. I'm shipping to Canada. Is there any chance that it could be seized? I asked Lockpickshop.com if there could be any problem shipping to Canada and they said to check the local laws , but that in the 6 years they had been in business they had never had anything seized. My only concern is that I need a locksmith business licence to recieve lockpicks through the mail.

What part of Canada are you in? Only Sask, Alta, and BC would cause you grief.

Ontario...While I'm on the subject, do I need anything more than a business licence to work as a locksmith in Ontario? I guess I would need to be bonded or have insurance too.

Correct. You should contact someone (such as other locksmiths or a local association) to find out if there are any other requirements, but to the best of my knowledge no other special license is required.

Poke around there for Ontario. Lots of info, training, and certification(s)

Good luck!
