Ethical pricing for multiple services at one service call??

This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

CaptB, How do you get hold of the dates / venues of the repro auctions? It's something I've been looking for but can't find, at least on the web. All the sites I find always want money to unlock the listings but there must be some way for the public to access this info.

Cheers for any info,
Nick

better late than never...

There really are different views between the provider and the consumer. In my business, we have a written policy that says "trip/travel charge is automatically billed unless otherwise specified". That means that when I give a quote, the basic formula is Trip+Parts+Labour. labour after 4:00 is hourly+1/2, after midnight is hourlyx2. Holiday after hours is hourlyx3. I'm a selfish SOB, and quite frankly, if you're going to tear me away from my family, my workshop, the hockey game I'm at, whatever I'm doing, you're aboslutly right I'm going to make it worth my time. That may not seem specifically fair to those at the other end, but you can always call around, I'm sure there's some greasy slimeball waiting to butcher your locks for half the price. You get what you pay for.
keys, we don't need no stinking keys!

On that note of being torn away from your personal life; I've found on several occasions when I get a call while I'm at a party or bar and there's loud music playing, the customer gets really apologetic and tips very well.

Perhaps I should hook a tape to my phone to make it sound like I'm at a party or night club after 6pm. :D

Why restrict yourself to "after 6pm" when you could be a 24 hour party person ?
Now, thats magic !
