I am including the following link as not to reinvent the wheel.

OK now I have done lesson's 6-10

all quotes are from jimb off the link above.

This is a continuation from the following link

Lesson 6 – Warded Lock Construction
Objection: To learn the names of the basic parts and the function they perform in warded locks.
Supplies: None.
Returned work: Exam.

No Changes. Very easy.

Lesson 7 – Making Keys By Impression For Warded Locks
Objective: To learn how to make a key for warded locks without taking them apart and without duplicating from another key
Supplies: 4 key blanks, 1 lock, and a 4” file.
Returned work: 1 lock and 1 key

Returned work: Card. You get to keep the lock and keys. The lock also includes the original keys. mine was a master lock 22KA. I messed up on my first blank and somehow let all my filling slip a little high. However the impressions are easy to see if you use a match to blacken the key before you put it in the lock. Easy yet challenging at the same time. Would recommend you have a vice for the keys.

Lesson 8 – Warded Bit Key Construction
Objective: To learn the names of the parts and the function they perform in the bit key lock.
Supplies: None.
Returned work: Exam.

Same. A little more challenging then 7 however still very easy.

Lesson 9- Re-settable Padlock Construction
Objective: To learn the construction of the re-settable model padlock and how to find a lost combination.
Supplies: None.
Returned work: Exam.

Same about the same difficulty as 8 however they need to update their information because they tell you to drill the bottom of the lock to find the code and I do believe they have a pick that can be used for this now.

Lesson 10 – Lever Tumbler Lock Construction, Picking and key impressioning
Objective: To learn the basic construction of the lever tumbler lock, how to pick it and making keys by impression.
Supplies: None.
Returned work: Exam.

Not much to say on this topic except interesting very interesting. I learned a little here that I didn't know.

I also received 2 picks and a torque wrench (well if you could call it that) I believe however this was a mistake on their behalf because nothing mentioned the use of these tools yet. I will see if I get them in the next shipment also. SNIFF SNIFF haven’t gotten them to work for yet.

Ok about the 2 picks and the tention tool. I didn't read the chapter well enough. While it does say that there are no supplies at the begining of the last chapter it does call for you to bend the tention rod into shape. There for you will receive these. It was not a mistake.

Yup. When I read that I felt ripped off a little. Never bothered to bend it into the suggested shape by the course. I don't pick lever locks at this point anyways. Plus I think I lost that little wire.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

I bent mine. Was kinda cheasy if you ask me though I can think of many other areas to send hands on besides this. I have talked to a local lock smith that is looking for a few of these for me to practice on.
