Buy from a Locksmith?

This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

Buy from a Locksmith?

Postby eSTRICTLYFOREIGN » 3 Jun 2008 12:51

As the title says, can I buy from a locksmith, I'm talking about pins and tumblers, springs, and stuff like that. Most likely this will be personal preference of the locksmith(s), also if someone can throw in a bonus and tell me what are the rules/laws of retailing in locksmithing? Give me examples;
You can buy these items, but you may not buy these items.

Thanks, STRICTLYFOREIGN

It would be up to the locksmith.. I don't know of any juristiction that prohibits the sale of lock hardware.

Different areas have different laws covering specific tools ( HINT: fill in your location !)

Some locksmiths will and some will not. I have had a few locksmiths say no to me when I asked if i could buy pins. I found one locksmith that would but he wanted $2.50 :shock: per pin so at that cost i tought maybe i will just order a pin kit.
