Hi!
I live in Greece. One of the (many) problems my country has is that there is no locksmithing school of any kind. The only way one can learn is through apprenticeship, and even then there is no proper way of certifying a locksmith's competence, despite the great effort of SAEK (the greek Locksmith Association) to promote a government-approved certification scheme...The frequent result is of course untrained "hacks" that will proceed to drill or break off your cylinder in a lockout (and earning a few extra euros for a replacement part, or in the case of armored doors equipped with locks like ATRA, CISA, MOTTURA, SECUREMME etc. they will open it by peeling the lining, just like opening a tin can or drill it with so many holes the door looks like emmental cheese!
Anyhow, I was looking into the various schools around Europe, but I failed to see one that specializes in the locks we use in Greece ( to my understanding mostly Spanish and of course Italian). Can anyone give me any direction towards an english-speaking school in either country or any other similar path suited for the greek market (as long as we have one, naturally)?
Also does anyone know of other suppliers apart from wendt and multipick for european (not british-)- oriented technologies and picking equipment for locks like CISA, ATRA, TESIO, POTENTE, ESETY (especialy the Omega Plus which very growing in popularity)?
Any feedback is welcome!
Thanks
