Proving knowledge for state licensing

Postby wayne2182 » 3 Oct 2011 19:36

Hello there forums peoples

I've been a lurker here for awhile and thought i would post a question finally. I recieved my locksmith training from a cousin who owned his own business a few years ago, needless to say working with a relative didnt go so well and i left and took a job in another field back in my home state of oklahoma. I decieded to get back into locksmithing but im having trouble with the state licensing here in oklahoma you have to prove your working knowledge with a affadavite before they will let you even take the licensing exam. Not a big deal for most but when you recieve your training from a relative then have a fairly large fight it is lol.

I did explain all this to the lady at the licensing place and was told if I attend "hands on" training that would work but she said that doesnt include over the internet stuff so any idea's? besides working for a year or 2 under another locksmith and making next to nothing.
