That is enough of the name calling/attacking/etc. The guy has got some decent comments made about him from respectable members in the UK. He gives the two day course and basically is telling you and showing you the methods behind the madness of the profession. Just like anything you have to practice and put your own time in to get anything out of any course you pay for.

For 700 quid do people expect someone to hold their hand for 2 years? I certainly do not. He teaches as I said the methods. What you do after that to become a good locksmith is up to you. He builds your foundation. If you decide to be lazy and sit a trailer home on that foundation and be a driller killer that was your choice. If you decide to take the foundation he has given you and build a 7000 sq ft. brick home and become one of the finest locksmiths in yoru area, that is also your choice. You basically get out of the training what you put into it when the course is over.

but in fairness you are the only 1 I know of that spend hundreds of hours practicing until you perfected the art.

I would be interested to learn also just how many members on here actually trade as a locksmith full time, I don’t mean working full time for react-fast doing locks plumbing and B & Q kitchen fitting or Timpson’s for instance but full time locksmithing running a business they have actually built up, I am guessing the answer to be about 10% max.

I didn't see the thread that was deleted, but from what he has said, I have a few comments.

1. Is there a problem with practicing for 'hundreds of hours' to perfect the art?
I'm currently a 3rd year locksmith apprentice (4 yr apprenticeship, btw, so it's not like i'm new to the trade) and unlike the other guys (certified lockies and other apprentices) in the business I work for, I don't stop being a locksmith at 5pm. I have locks that I practice picking with to improve my skills, and I frequently visit this site. Other members seem to want nothing to do with the business, and this is reflected in their work ethic when they do a job which stretches their work hours past 5pm.

2. I know there are more hobbyists than trading locksmiths here, but I believe the ratio here is nowhere near the 10% that he assumes. (what do they say about assuming...?)

3. Yes, I'm not a qualified locksmith (yet) but the company and directors I work for are well know, respected members of the QLD locksmithing community.
I put myself in the locksmith category, even though I'm not qualified, and not in the hobbyist one, because I wouldn't be here if I wasn't in the trade.

I can't comment on the courses that are run out there, because I'm doing my own 4 year course. And you still don't get your ticket unless the boss and the trade school/college teacher think you're ready.

Well it was made in retaliation to a lot of threads slagging off the two day trainers, on these threads someone mentioned Kens coursre and then as has this thread a few jumped in and put their 2 cents worth in when they didnt actually know what was being discussed properly in other words they should have kept their noses out, again just like this thread really,

The threads turned to shite as per usual, locked then removed but Ken was upset and rightly so as he isnt one of the cowboy trainers,

I think the issue that brought this on was that Ken tried advertiseing on ebay for a short while to see if it helped business and a few jumped in on this, possably maybe at that time including myself but i cant remember full details,

From memory he made 2 or 3 threads of a simular context, the other one i think was full of emotion and also got removd but this one was left to leave a voice out there and kept clean,

The thread was made to address certain issues made elsewhere and i dont think the post should be quoted or questioned without full knowledge of previous happenings,

I aprechiate that everything would have been totally fine had it been about one of the ebay trainers as they are mostly scum but in this case its been a case of tarring the member with the same brush as others,

I lock this thread now,
I will remove it later once the active people in it have read the reasons why its locked,

We shouldnt jump in on raccoon so readily as all he did was to jump on a bandwagon well known on this site and it was just his luck to jump on the only legitimate one we have lol raccoon i bet you wish you hadnt jumed on it now lol

In all fairness. Raccoon not only jumped on the bandwagon. I believe I recall the word "rapist" used by him.
