As a tradesmen, I will be blunt about the public as well i was watching Jay leno and his segement focused on it.

Truth be told, and try to be grown up about what I say guys.

These are the excuse I here-

1. Uhh well a criminal will get in anyway.

Educated responce- So just becuase thieves are percistant you conjure up a self justified reponce for ignorace and lazyness. Only when your house is vandeled willl I hear from you again.. until then good luck.

2. Well I am a big tough man with balls the size of earth and I can shoot anyone who walks into my house.

Sane Responce- Congrats, and so can a burglur.. only he may have a shot gun you will have an 380 pop gun. So instead of a killing mentality, why not try and protect love ones, and unreplaceble things within oyur house.

See as a lockie you will suggest, but the public is so ignorant and malinformed from lazyness.

Yes It litterly takes extremes for people to do anything.

Put it this way, if america's polution ever went down.. it's because people go to lazy to visit the crapper after Taco night..

Its a sad truth.. but you can't cure stupid.. or ignorant.

Americans are stupid so you say.

Postby saxjonz » 25 Jul 2008 23:13

Say what you like about Americans. I just came here checking out the kwikset lock and realize most of you on this website are anti-american. We are stupid? Half of you can't spell and are looking for the perfect lock that Americans are supposedly too cheap to buy. I love how intelligent those comments are especially when a good many of the words are spelled incorrectly and just about all locks can be picked fairly easily.
Fact is most people know here is that if someone wants to break in to your house they will find a way or a time. You are all aware of the bump key in which you don't need any real skill to pick a lock. You are all aware that homes all have windows. You are all aware that if there is something that someone really wants they will get it no matter what the security is. Point is why talk about security when all locks can be picked. None of us are truly secure we just want to feel as if we are secure. People don't enjoy life because they are too scared about too many things. We do what we can do. I don't live in a great neigborhood but I have good neighbors who do what they can to babysit the neighborhood and like the one guy said locks are just to keep the honest person honest. What will be will be. If you worry too much about something there is a karma that will make that something become a reality. I pray I don't get broken in to yet I won't live in fear of it and if it happens it won't be the end of the world. I guess I just don't have that expensive tv that everyone wants. Wait... I don't own a tv.
Stupid Americans we all are. And Cuba and commie bastards too right? Opions are like . Everyone has one and they all stink. I say people are people and if you choose to judge at least do it on a one on one basis so that you can be accurate. Blankets statements are like throwing bricks in the crowd they hit someone but not everyone. Funny that I don't have any opinions of any country. I think people are mostly good and that they happen to inhabit a certain place in time and space that doesn't make them but rather they make themselves. Just think about what you all say when you judge as most of us do. Get a life and learn how to spell instead of focusing attention away from yourself as being inadequate and ignorant.

Welcome Saxjonz...interesting first post.

This site is not about advising on security applications. It is all about methods and how-to's of picking locks.

That other discussions happen, goes with the territory.

Not everyone will agree all of the time.

You have to remember that most of the members here only want to pick locks, not get into geo-political discussions.

I dont think that there as many anti-Americans as you think. But like Americans, they have a right to their own opinion, just like you and I have a right to disagree.

Because some people cannot seem to spell correctly or use suitable diction in their sentence structure, has no bearing or influence on the subject matter.

LP101 is universal just like the internet. Perhaps respecting people here for having an opinion is more worthwile than knocking them.

What do you think?

Re: Kwikset Smart Key

Postby killbox » 19 Oct 2008 21:48

Just picked up a Smart Key Deadbold and knobset, because I had to see how they worked, They are very easy to remove the cylinder, As for the deadbolt its pretty trivial to remove the faceplate, and after you have done that you have access to the screws and you can do what you can do for any locked out Kwickset before.

As for the knobset, they are also the same as before.

Im usually pretty good at picking locks, but i have played with this one for over 10 minutes programmed with a very easy key(all 3s) if i rake it there and then turn it works, but programmed with a more serious key its resisted me sofar.

Then again I was thwarted for over 25minutes on a crappy upside down defiant knobset today.
