Opinions on Video Training School

This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

Opinions on Video Training School

Postby gplea » 28 Oct 2006 22:13

Another VERY new newbie here from North Carolina with many questions.

1.) This training that I'm considering (LocksmithVideoSchool.com) seems
to be very much on the level, and very willing to help; but I just
wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge of or endorsements of
this particular course. If this isn't the best course could I have some
suggestions for the best bang-4-buck?

2.) Has anyone tried getting any federal grants for upstarts? I'm trying
to dig out of some unavoidable debt, so my credit isn't exactly what
the SBA would entertain.

3.) I was told that it was possible with $1,500 outlay I could start making
$2,500 - 3,000/mo. after a couple of months. Yea/Nea? Right now, I
don't even have a vehicle. Considering I'll have to work quite a bit
out of it how much would you suggest that I spend on a used
SUV/Van?

That's enough for now.

Thanks,
George

If the people selling the video course told you this then its safe to assume that the course is just as deluded and would be somthing to stay away from,

Have a look in the locksmith business section for tips on what you need to do, tools you need to buy and what you should look at learning from a course,

I would not reccomend a video course myself,

I borrowed a copy of the DVDs last year .Skipped a lot of sections for they would put you to sleep.A good view if you are starting off but do not spend money that could go on tools on this.
Buy some tools ,get a full time job to pay the bills and practice at night until you can start trading part time.

I bought their Advanced Lockpicking 101A CD's, it has some good information in it, but about 1/3 of the first CD is an endorsement for a certain company that makes lockpicks.
It's not bad information if you don't know anything about locks, but I don't think you can take the course you're talking about and be able to start a business.
You said you were also from NC, you need to check out this link.
http://www.nclocksmithboard.org/

You have to pass a State test to get a license in NC before you can do any business as a locksmith.

I just wanted you to know the facts before you spend you money on any course and find out that you can't just start a business.
I wish you the best, but I do want you to be informed.
Hope this helps.
