Picking a Jaguar

This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

Picking a Jaguar

Postby Eyes_Only » 11 Nov 2007 17:20

I won't go into details about how to do this since I would need to have this placed in the advanced section but this is more of a business question than anything else so I chose to put it here.

In the U.S. at least, how much do all you other lockies charge to open the trunk on a Jaguar if the keys are locked in there and the only way to do it is to pick the lock?

I just ran a job like this at a Costco and luckily the customer kept a spare key in the glove compartment so all I had to do was open the car and disable the alarm. After that I had decided that I'm gonna save up for a tibbe decoder for the Jags the next time I run into this kind of situation.

So yeah, whats the average rate for this kind of job on this kind of a vehicle?
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

For example in France i would take about 150€ to open this car. Normally we don't have to disassemble the alarm. This job is done by an autorepairman

Once worked on an old classic, xj12 or something like that, the locks were ridiculous little cabinet locks. and the whole thing was put together with a hundred different types of slot headed screws. it was mickymouse.
