How many other lockies here offer car remotes as part of their locksmith business?

I'm starting to consider buying remotes off of ebay too cos our current supplier charges way too high. You guys ever run into problems with ebay remotes?

we do alot of automotive stuff at my work so we do all the transponder keys and remotes that we can, but there are some car models that have to be done by the dealer.
the way that technolagy is going you will have to start doing thinks like this as a locksmith or you will be missing out on a lot of locks.
we dont get any of the remotes or keys from ebay though, and some of the time you need to use genuine parts anyway.

I was thinking for car makes like late 90's, early 00 GM, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Chrysler you can maybe pull it off with ones bought from ebay stores from time to time if our customers can't afford the remotes we know for sure are OEM.

There was a great article about this in The Independant Locksmith Journal. I believe it was the august issue. If you want to see it I'll see if I can dig it up.

I do remotes.....Not doing remotes is like not doing trandponder or even accesss control.....I believe we must be progressive as lockies no matter what we concentrate on!!!!!remotes are pretty simple all you have to do is obtain the intructions and on some makes like the chrysler group need a programer like the T-code and this does Chryler group from 95- present
!!!!!! For the most part remotes are not make/model specfic....meaning some will fit a wide array of models and years for many makes.....this being said assuming that you are in the US!!!!

I sale remotes, new ones with warrantees. I would not sale used electronics you dont know where its been, your reputations at stake. say to me I can get it cheaper somewhere else, used,I say you get what you pay for. They are easy to program,I dont usely have any trouble out of them.
