Anyone with experience on 118118 contracts

Having signed a contract with 118118 has anyone any experience of cancelling this 12 month contract before paying anymore money?

Please do not advertise unless you have a specific permission for that. Your sites URL can be seen from the button labeled "WWW" and your link didn't have anything to do with the topic at hand.

On the topic, I would think that either you have to pay a breech of contract fine or you have to pay it in full like it or not or in the rare case, you get away from it without paying any extra.

yell generally will not cancel your contract but i know people who have cancelled their direct debit after informing them in writing of your intention to cancel .if you have good grounds (ie the response is rubbish)they will not attempt to recover outstanding money.
Be sure though that you give them the chance to resolve any complaints first.

118 also say they will not cancel but if you cancel in writing because the ad isn't giving the returns promised they will do the same.

Cancelling contracts

Postby compromizer » 8 Aug 2008 12:29

Im not familiar with what kind of contract your specifically talking about. But I do know another locksmith that had a credit card machine that came with a 24 month contract. They ended up tacking on all sorts of hidden fees to the point of being ridiculous that they were about taking more money than he was making with credit cards! He got out of the contract by telling them he was going out of business. I do not condone this but this seemed to have worked for him. Be very weary of credit card running machines and companys btw, I suggest setting up a paypal business account so you can run credit cards from your pc. No contract involved ;-). Bit of a tangent off subject but maybe someone will find some of this info useful.
