I had a 18v DeWalt wet and dry vacume which I got for free when I bought my 18v drill, it was really good for cleaning up wood, metal and any other mess I make from installing locks, even on carpet it would get small metal filings out fairly good, especialy considering it was free, definatly worth paying for too.

Yes, that DeWalt cordless vac is excellent! They have one now that is corded AND cordless - uses the battery or plug it in!

You guys think these vacuum cleaners work well on vehicle upholstery and carpets? I'm kind of getting tired of having to take my car to the car wash every week or two just to vacuum the insides.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Maybe I'm not demanding enough, but testing a cordless vacuum inside should tell you whether it'll work outside. That being said, I'll usually just take the regular vacuum cleaner out to the garage... I'll occasionally use a dustbuster.

You wont regret getting the DeWalt, get that and the 18v drill and you will be set, only problem I had with it is with 3 batterys they only last me a year but they also got a lot of heavy use.

i have a 18volt miluwakee drill with 5 batteries, a 14.4 with 5 batteries and a makita 18 v lithuim drill ,bought the drill to go with my new cordless angle grinder its my master key for rusty padlocks, wish dewalt made a decent angle grinder, looks like im going to get the dewalt kit just for the vacume and extra batteries. the makita grinder is great but batteries are about 200.00 bucks each.
