Reactfast / lockaid

Has anyone ever done work for reactfast?

Would just like to warn anyone thinking of becoming a sub contractor that its probably more hassle than its worth.

Iv had nothing but trouble:

Never getting paid on time,

their call center is ridiculous and know nothing about the trade they just tell you 'its a lock job',

Customers often refuse to pay for the overpriced work,

You get no compensation from them when you turn up at a no show job (ie: nobody there)

Basically iv found theyre a real nasty company, all about the money. I know im not the only one.

Just a word of warning to new tradesmen, be careful

oh and while we are here. Theres a company called Lockaid that are just as bad if not worse :-D ...

Wont do anything for them. Have done in the past on my own terms but still turned up on site to be greeted buy another locksmith they'd sent. Cockaid then refused to talk to the other locksmith , so I know he never got paid.
Iv'e had problems getting paid so the last one I done for them (over a year ago), I kept all the money.
Everything about them is wrong. They over price by a long way. They send out anyone that they can get hold of. They will send 2 locksmiths to the same job, only one will be paid. They will hold your payment for as long as possible.
No matter how many people say "dont work for these parasites" The temptation is there when it goes quite.
Hopfully we all learn in the end. It took me 4 jobs.

Lockaid is run by a guy who used to work for reactfast hence the similar business models of ripping people off.

[edit- I "fixed" your spelling "mistake" - please do not bypass
the word filter like that again- unlisted ]

Haha Lockaid just called me to persuade me to do a job, then the phone rings in the background, he puts me on hold a second and i hear him send an engineer out to the same job

I wasnt going to do it for them anyway and a bloody good job

Do these two companies only take calls for lockouts or do they accept more technical locksmith work too? Cos most of the scammers in the US usually do mostly lockout calls as far as I know and they have a terrible reputation with price gouging and unprofessional practices.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

they will take any work they can get and then double what you'd normally charge + VAT. Proper robbers and your doing their dirty work... its not pleasant, thus the reason iv packed em in. And they still owe me money too, they really dont like paying up for the work you have done. Iv had to threaten to remove all the locks i fitted to get any response from them.

Nice to see how this practice has spread around the World  . I can remember one USA member a couple of years back saying all the UK lockies do is moan about the state of the market. Looks like it's rife over their now. Is it the same with new start ups flooding the market.

Just went out to a job that Reactfast had attended the previous night.

An old ladies upvc door wasnt locking so they tried to charge her £300+ vat to 'replace the parts'

obviously she refused and called me

All it needed was a good service and some release spray

Theyre such predators  I dont know how theyre still in business
