Paranoia

Postby weerwolf » 8 Oct 2009 16:01

I just read the latest article on Blackbag. I must say , I've seen this same situation several times before.

Mostely its an older lady , complaining someone (usually a drug addicted neighbour) can get in their appartement. There is no damadge to the lock and their is never anything stolen. I then sell them a new lock , or 1 of our technitians goes there to change the lock. 2 days later they are back , claiming the same person got in again.

I've had 1 customer who bought 1 pfaffenhain cylinder , a 3KS and then wanted a code lock. All of this in about 1 week.

Has anyone else had any customers like this ?

The heck with drug-addicts... I'd like to know where I could get one of these mysterious neighbours Barry mentions who will break into my home and vacuum while I'm out. What type of lock do I need to install for that to happen?

Sadly when dealing with the elderly customers who have this concern I've seen that majority of the time they are right and its done by "close" family members or those related by law.

Some of them are indeed nuts but a lot of these older customers I've had for these kind of calls actually had valid (and really sad and unfortunate) problems where they were being robbed by people they know.

I'm relieved I don't have to run these types of calls anymore. Makes you depressed and lose faith in mankind.

I believe you don't even need a lock for that. I've experience one of these "mysterious" cleanings in a hotel where I was staying. I had this strange shape card hanging on my doorknob saying "please clean" on one side and "Do not disturb" on the back.

I left my room and locked it up and when I came back my bed was made, my ashtray emptied, my bathroom cleaned and my floor vacuumed. I am assuming it is the magical work of the "please clean" card and I guess you should see if any of the local hotels are willing to sell you one, I am guessing it will set you back more than even the most expensive 3KS locks out there but it's definitely worth it!
