Different Types of Key Machines?

Postby kaelanh » 4 Jul 2011 17:15

Hi, I have been looking around at different key machines and some of the machines are Cylindral and mortice key compatible. Can any one tell me the difference between the two? I was thinking that Cylindral would be KW1 SC1 M1 etc. And Mortice would be the flat steel and safe deposit, am I correct?

I currently have the HPC Premier Speedex
Thank You

The Cylindrical key machine would cut KW1, SC1, M1, etc...

The Mortice key machine is for cutting bit key locks, aka lever locks. I'm pretty sure you would be able to cut flat steel and safe deposit box keys on it as well, you just need to get the specific cutting wheel.
