Hi all,
i am also new here, so i can understand how desperate r the new ones here to start picking on their own :) . i found a very good link which describes the working mechanisms of many common locks, such as pin/wafer, lever, warded etc. so here it is:

http://www.wilton.force9.co.uk/lock/mechanism1.htm

i hope it helps someone.
